Schizostachyum brachycladum 'Bali Kuning' Flowering and Developing Seeds

Seedling of Schizostachyum brachycladum 'Bali Kuning'
The tropicial bamboo, Schizostachyum brachycladum, is known to flower almost every year (without harm to the plant), but the development of seeds is rare, at least in its yellow stem variety 'Bali Kuning'. Recently, a single plant at Baan Sammi (Chiang Mai, northern Thailand) developed some seeds, of which a few are viable and developed into seedlings but with none or much reduced amount of chlorophyll. Seeds are not available for distribution. The development of the seedlings have been recorded in the Bamboo Seed Germination Tests 2016, and in the Compilation of Bamboo Seeds.
